About The Position

The City of Waukee is looking for Concession Attendants to work at Triumph Park through the end of October. Under the general direction of the Recreation Supervisor, this role assists customers and performs a wide variety of procedures necessary for the efficient operation of concession functions within Triumph Park. This is a seasonal position lasting 3 to 4 months, with a tentative start date between mid-July and early-August. Work hours are flexible, ranging from 4 to 20 hours per week, with shifts available on weekdays from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on weekends from early morning to evening. The wage for this position is between $12.00 and $14.00 per hour. Applicants must be 14 years of age or older.

Requirements

  • Continued education in high school or above.
  • Must be 14 years of age or older.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Confident in the use of computers and tablets and able to be trained in software required to complete functions of the position.
  • Able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
  • Able to reach, climb, bend, kneel, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Able to spend the majority of work-related time standing.
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of American money, weight and distance.
  • Able to hear, see, and effectively communicate orally (in person and over the telephone) and in writing (using electronic devices and handwritten) in English with other employees, vendors and the community.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Concession stand sales, cleaning, and stocking.
  • Takes orders for food and beverages and prepares food items according to the instructions.
  • Completes cash transactions accurately, totaling purchases and tendering change.
  • Participate in the set-up of concession stands, arrange inventory of supplies, and communicate shortages to Concession Lead.
  • Performs clean-up duties after each shift and ensure that concession stand, food preparation equipment is sanitized and tidied up for the next attendant.
  • Keeps food preparation equipment, building and storage areas clean and well-maintained.
  • Performs other duties or assumes other responsibilities as apparent or assigned.
