About The Position

Abilene Christian University (ACU) is seeking a Computer Science Open Rank Tenure Track or College Faculty member, depending on experience and qualifications. This position involves teaching undergraduate Computer Science courses in a residential program. Faculty members are expected to maintain a program of intellectual contributions through peer-reviewed academic presentations, proceedings, and publications, or other forms of professional development. Additionally, faculty will mentor students and undertake departmental, college, and university service assignments. The School of Information Technology and Computing, part of the College of Business Administration, has seven full-time faculty members, five of whom hold terminal degrees. The department offers undergraduate majors in computer science and digital entertainment technology. ACU's College of Business Administration is accredited by AACSB and ABET and offers various undergraduate and graduate programs, including online options.

Requirements

• An earned doctorate in computer science.
• A strong record of relevant professional and/or research experience.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Proven college/university teaching experience, or show strong promise in teaching.
• Must be a professing Christian and an active, faithful member of a congregation of the Churches of Christ.
• Must be willing to support the Christian mission and purpose of the university.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in Computer Science in a residential program.
• Maintain a program of intellectual contributions in the form of peer-reviewed academic presentations, proceedings, and publications or other forms of professional development for college faculty.
• Mentor students.
• Accept departmental, college, and university service assignments.
