About The Position

The CNPD is comprised of the departments of Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Social Work as well as the Children & Family Services Training Center. The CNPD is the home of the state’s only Nurse Anesthesia program, the state’s only Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program and the state’s only PhD in nursing program. The graduate nursing department seeks a full-time, open rank faculty to teach, conduct research and perform service. Faculty rank will be based upon experience and qualifications. The position may be tenure track or an offer of tenure may be made based on a candidate’s documented record of achievement and subject to approval from the Department, College, University, and the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education. The CNPD offers innovative online educational programs, a simulation laboratory and a supportive student environment for both face-to-face and distance learning. Additionally, the North Dakota Nursing Research Collaborative was initiated by UND’s nursing department to bring North Dakota nursing clinical and academic partners together. This organization is actively working on integrating simulation in nursing education as well as addressing workforce retention across the state. The successful candidate will develop a nationally/internationally recognized research program and will engage in active efforts to pursue and secure external funding to build research infrastructure and will participate in professional and Departmental/University outreach and service activities.
