About The Position

ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ. This position requires the employee to be a professing Christian and to be willing to support the Christian mission of ACU. This is an Accounting - Open Rank Tenure Track faculty position, with a start date of Fall 2027. The rank depends on experience and qualifications. This position will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Accounting for students in a residential program, with some online options. Faculty members are expected to maintain Scholarly Academic (SA) status through a program of intellectual contributions in the form of peer-reviewed academic publications and presentations and other forms of professional development consistent with the school’s maintenance of AACSB Accreditation. Faculty will also mentor students and accept departmental, college, and university service assignments.

Requirements

  • Must be a professing Christian and willing to support the Christian mission of ACU.
  • An earned doctorate or terminal degree in accounting is required (ABD status also considered).
  • Expertise in one or more accounting-related service areas required (e.g., audit, financial, cost, accounting information systems, analytics, controllership, etc.).
  • Qualified candidates will demonstrate a strong record of relevant research and/or professional experience, combined with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Proven college/university teaching experience, or show strong promise in teaching.
  • Curriculum Vita (CV)
  • Statement of philosophy of teaching and learning and the role of scholarship in teaching and learning
  • Copies of transcripts for all academic work
  • Selected copies of papers and publications
  • Academic letter of recommendation
  • Statement about one’s personal spiritual journey
  • Letter of recommendation from a church leader
  • Statement of reflection/response to a document about the identity, mission, and future of Abilene Christian University

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Accounting for students in a residential program, with some online options.
