About The Position

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration's (MDOT SHA) District 1 – Salisbury is currently recruiting for a Computer Information Services Specialist Supervisor position. The employee is responsible for the computer management and telecommunications for District 1, encompassing the District Office and maintenance facilities in Cambridge, Princess Anne, Salisbury, and Snow Hill. This position may allow a hybrid work schedule, including telework and required on-site work hours. Employees may be required to work beyond their shift, to include off hours, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Requirements

• Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
• Two (2) years of experience evaluating, implementing and maintaining microcomputer hardware and software.
• One (1) year of this experience must have involved the supervision of others.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
• Familiarity with Windows 10 and 11 OS.
• Experience with Help Desk Ticketing System.
• Possess a driver’s license valid in the state of Maryland.
• Must remain reachable by phone or pager with a valid contact number.

Nice To Haves

• A+ Applications Expert and Network Administrator Certifications
• MSCE or MCNE Certification
• Advanced knowledge of Voice over Internet Protocol network services
• 2 years IT Service Management (ITSM) experience
• Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or ITIL Foundation

Responsibilities

• Supervising and directing the work of staff-level Computer Information Services Specialists and other IT support staff
• Determining computer hardware and software solutions for users and recommending acquisition of appropriate technology resources and services
• Overseeing desktop support, addressing on-site user issues with hardware and software
• Coordinating the development and/or implementation of various software applications
• Asset management to include delivering, deploying, disposing, and inventorying of assets
