Nightwing is seeking a highly motivated Computational Engineer/Scientific Computing Engineer to join our technical team. This entry-level role is ideal for a recent college graduate with strong foundations in applied mathematics, physics, and computational methods who is eager to solve complex technical problems using modern programming tools and simulation techniques. As a key contributor, the engineer will support the development analysis, and optimization of models that represent real-work physical systems. The junior engineer will work closely with engineers, data scientists, and researchers to transform theoretical concepts to computation solutions. Willingness to obtain Top Secret /SCI with POLY.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of ordinary and partial differential equations, multivariable calculus, and linear algebra
  • Experience with one or more computational tools: Python, Julia, MATLAB, Mathematica
  • Ability to perform rigorous analytical thinking and interpret technical data
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or project experience in computational physics, numerical methods, or scientific computing
  • Exposure to electrodynamics, signal processing, or computational modeling of physical systems
  • Familiarity with open-source intelligence (OSINT) tools or data-mining techniques
  • Internship or research experience in modeling, simulation, or programming

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement numerical models using Python, Julia, MATLAB, or Mathematica
  • Apply multivariable calculus linear algebra, and differential equations to solve engineering and physics-based problems
  • Support simulation and analysis of physical systems
  • Write clean, reproducible code and automate workflows using Bash/Shell scripting
  • Validate results through analytical methods, data analysis, and comparison with experimental or reference data
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support research, prototyping, and system design
