About The Position

This role involves conducting wireless network assessments, auditing existing networks, and assisting in the design and implementation of wireless projects. The engineer will support the installation, configuration, and validation of wireless solutions, monitor performance, and troubleshoot issues. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, documentation of project activities, training with other departments, and maintaining project timelines are key aspects of this position. The role also includes other duties as assigned by a Supervisor.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or Computer Science
• At least 2 years of networking experience in Service Provider or Enterprise environments with a focus on WiFi
• Basic understanding of networking protocols
• Familiarity with RF concepts including RSSI, SNR, Channel Sizing, Modulation, WPA2/3, DFS, etc.
• Experience using wireless design tools such as Ekahau, iBwave, or Air Magnet

Nice To Haves

• Cisco certification is a plus
• Certified Wireless Technician (CWT)
• Experience with Ruckus SmartZone or Zone Director
• Background in telecommunications or Internet Service Provider (ISP) environments

Responsibilities

• Conduct wireless network assessments including active, passive, predictive, and AP-on-a-Stick surveys.
• Audit existing wireless networks to evaluate performance, identify design flaws, and recommend improvements.
• Assist in the design and implementation of wireless projects based on client requirements and industry standards.
• Support the installation, configuration, and validation of wireless solutions in commercial and residential environments.
• Monitor performance and quality of wireless product installations and troubleshoot related issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, field operations, and project management.
• Document project activities, including survey data, installation details, and test results.
• Train with other departments to gain a holistic view of wireless network deployments.
• Maintain project timelines and deliverables while working in dynamic environments.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
