About The Position

As the FBM Component Engineering Manager at Lockheed Martin Space, you have an immediate impact in shaping the organization’s future. This is an opportunity to lead a dynamic Component Engineering and support staff supporting Missile programs. Drawing upon previous leadership experience and your own technical expertise, you will help your team overcome challenges and build the organizational talent to solve the challenges of the future.

Requirements

Previous experience in Electrical/ Electronic/ Electromechanical (EEE) Parts or related field
Experience leading projects and/or multi-discipline team efforts by applying technical knowledge and leadership skills
Familiar with key aspects of parts / components engineering (specifications, selection, qualification/screening, receiving inspection, Destructive Physical Analysis)
Knowledge of Parts, Materials and Processes (PMP) & Specialty Engineering requirements for high-reliability military program.
Eligibility/willingness to obtain/maintain a Top Secret security clearance; US citizenship required
Expertise coordinating work and personnel across multiple work locations and organizational structures
Highly motivated individual able to form effective relationships within program, with other enterprise organizations, and with customer personnel
Experience balancing multiple, competing priorities in a highly dynamic, high-tempo environment
Balancing programmatic, functional, leadership, and technical tasks
Ability to clearly communicate complex technical and programmatic issues to your team, peers, management and customers
Experience modeling Leadership imperatives, ownership and accountability
Proven skills providing technical and administrative direction to other employees

Experience working reciprocally with customers and teammates
Active or Current Top Secret clearance

Responsibilities

Drive execution of a Parts Engineering & Parts Control teams
Exercise expertise in the application of all parts and parts control disciplines in support of FBM development and production
Staff and assign Component Engineering & support staff personnel (Project Engineers, Engineering Aides, Documentation Engineers, etc.) to technical engineering assignments ensuring program success
Lead the resolution of critical issues & maintain awareness, engagement and communication of critical issues and their reach across programs
Perform functional management tasks including coaching, group & individual development, and performance management for your team
Apply Leadership principles to help the team adjust to a new organizational paradigm.
