About The Position

This role is responsible for owning and interpreting product-level regulatory requirements, ensuring products are designed to meet compliance standards, and managing supplier and manufacturing compliance. The Compliance Manager will also handle certifications, documentation, customer audits, and drive continuous improvement in compliance processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 5+ years of direct experience with product compliance for embedded hardware appliance
  • 10+ years overall experience in product compliance, regulatory affairs, or quality in a hardware or technology manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of global product regulatory frameworks (ex. RoHS, REACH, PFOA/PFOS, CRA, CE, FCC, IEC/UL standards)
  • Experience working with global suppliers and contract manufacturers
  • Proven ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives without direct authority
  • Strong documentation, analytical, and audit‑management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in defense, critical infrastructure, networking, or regulated markets (e.g., NATO, government, aviation, utilities)
  • Familiarity with export controls and trade compliance (ITAR/EAR) in collaboration with Legal
  • ISO 9001 / AQAP experience
  • Experience supporting customer‑driven compliance requirements in complex B2B environments

Responsibilities

  • Own and interpret product‑level regulatory requirements, including but not limited to RoHS, REACH, PFAO/PFOS, CRA, CE, FCC, UL/IEC (e.g., 62368‑1), AQAP, ITAR, and customer‑specific compliance mandates.
  • Determine regulatory applicability by product, geography, and end‑market.
  • Serve as the authoritative compliance subject‑matter expert for TPS products.
  • Partner with Engineering and Product Management to ensure products are designed to meet applicable compliance requirements.
  • Review and approve compliance evidence during product introduction, change management, and end‑of‑life activities.
  • Lead compliance risk assessments and mitigation plans for new products and product changes.
  • Define supplier compliance requirements in collaboration with Supply Chain and Quality.
  • Ensure collection, validation, and maintenance of supplier declarations (RoHS, REACH, CMRT, CSR, counterfeit prevention).
  • Support Operations and Contract Manufacturers in meeting compliant build, traceability, and documentation requirements.
  • Participate in supplier audits and corrective action processes as needed.
  • Own and approve Declarations of Conformity and consolidated compliance statements.
  • Support Operations in issuing Certificates of Compliance tied to production lots.
  • Maintain centralized compliance documentation repositories and ensure audit readiness.
  • Serve as the primary compliance interface for customer audits, certifications, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Support Sales and Program Management with accurate responses to customer compliance requests and RFPs.
  • Participate in internal, customer, and certification audits; lead follow‑up actions as required.
  • Establish and maintain compliance processes, standards, and work instructions.
  • Provide compliance training and guidance to Engineering, Product Management, and Operations teams.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess impacts to existing and future products.
  • Drive continuous improvement in compliance effectiveness and cycle time.
