About The Position

Our mission is to build a reliable platform and partner for backbone American businesses. As Affiniti's first dedicated compliance hire, you'll work directly with the Head of Legal to build and run the compliance infrastructure behind our SMB financial operations platform. You'll work across everything from customer onboarding and transaction monitoring to marketing reviews and regulatory filings. You'll collaborate with our customer support and marketing teams, plus external partners like our bank and key vendors, to make sure we're staying on the right side of regulations while moving fast. This is not a box-checking role. You'll be embedded in a team that ships quickly and takes compliance seriously from day one. Requirements

• 1–4 years of experience in compliance, risk, or legal operations, preferably at a fintech, bank, or financial services company.
• Familiarity with KYC/KYB, BSA/AML, sanctions screening, and transaction monitoring frameworks.
• Experience preparing SARs or regulatory filings.
• Understanding of the sponsor bank / fintech program manager dynamic.
• Detail-obsessed and organized.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Experience at an early stage hypergrowth startup.
• Comfortable with compliance tech: KYC platforms, transaction monitoring tools, case management systems.
• A high ownership, do what it takes mentality.
• Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States. For this role, we are considering candidates who are U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents (Green Card holders), or individuals who otherwise currently hold valid authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Own our KYB/KYC pipeline end to end. Review business customer applications, verify identities, assess risk, and keep our onboarding policies current.
• Be a pillar of our transaction monitoring and BSA/AML program. Investigate high-risk alerts, prepare SARs for our sponsor bank, refine monitoring rules, and maintain our fraud and AML/BSA playbook.
• Prepare all recurring compliance deliverables for our sponsor bank: complaints reporting, testing and monitoring reports, and AML/BSA summaries. Support compliance reviews for new product features and assist with audits and regulatory exams.
• Conduct vendor and third-party due diligence. Maintain risk assessments, track monitoring obligations, and coordinate with the Head of Legal on contract compliance requirements.
• Review marketing materials for UDAAP, network rules, and sponsor bank requirements. Coordinate approvals with our bank partner.
• Handle compliance-related customer escalations, dispute resolution, and complaint documentation and reporting.
• Pitch in with the legal team on contract management, litigation support, and other legal tasks as they come up.
• Contribute wherever you observe opportunities to grow our business that align with your skills and interests.
