About The Position

Talcott Financial Group’s ten-week Summer Internship Program provides students with hands-on experience through real-world projects, training in market dynamics and industry fundamentals, educational workshops, peer networking, and exposure to senior leadership. The selected intern will work on a hybrid schedule in Talcott’s Hartford, Connecticut office. The role offers exposure to how insurance, reinsurance, and annuity transactions operate within regulatory frameworks involving the State Department of Insurance (DOI), FINRA, and the SEC. The intern will collaborate with business stakeholders and support department priorities for continuous improvement, including use of AI-enabled tools to improve workflow efficiency and consistency.

Requirements

• Be a current college student presently enrolled.
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate proficiency in research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Exercise professional judgment and discretion when handling sensitive information.
• Show strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately summarize insurance concepts.
• Be comfortable working with emerging technologies and ambiguity.
• Have solid proficiency with MS Office and related technologies.

Nice To Haves

• Coursework or experience in a business-related curriculum.
• Interest in legal innovation, AI-enabled research tools, corporate growth, and/or regulated financial services.

Responsibilities

• Support transaction-readiness initiatives for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships through research outputs and risk summaries.
• Help develop reusable legal content optimized for technology-assisted use, such as issue briefs, annotated references, checklists, and decision guides.
• Provide input on controls for AI-assisted work, including documentation standards, review checklists, and repeatable validation.
• Assist with implementing practical AI governance practices that promote accuracy and verification of workflows and ensure analyses and summaries are supportable.
