Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in business, finance, legal studies, or a related field.
  • Interest in compliance, regulatory affairs, or legal studies is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards is a plus.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive, eager to learn, and able to work independently.
  • Willingness to learn and support compliance activities in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining organized records related to compliance activities, including policies, procedures, training materials, and audit documentation.
  • Support compliance audits and assessments, both internal and external.
  • Help coordinate with audit teams to track findings and assist in recommending corrective actions.
  • Help generate regular reports on compliance activities and key performance indicators, highlighting potential areas of concern.
  • Assist in identifying and assessing compliance risks within the organization and collaborate with relevant departments to develop mitigation strategies.
  • Support investigations into compliance-related issues, incidents, or violations, working under the guidance of the Compliance Manager to resolve matters.
  • Help monitor and stay updated on relevant federal, state, and local regulations, as well as industry standards and best practices.
  • Aid in interpreting regulations and ensuring compliance across the organization.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures, including communicating and training employees on compliance topics.
  • Help promote a culture of compliance by supporting open communication and raising awareness of compliance matters throughout the organization.
  • The role involves daily (or regular) communication with pan-Canadian stakeholders.
