About The Position

This position is responsible for supporting the development of compliance template documents and training materials for our wastewater pretreatment program. This onsite internship provides hands-on experience in regulatory compliance, environmental program management, and technical training development. The intern will assist with drafting permit templates, checklists, submittal documents, and educational content aimed at enhancing understanding and implementation of pretreatment standards by facility staff. This is a full-time summer internship (onsite) that provides hands-on experience.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with use of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities.
  • Knowledge and experience operating general office equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program in environmental science, engineering, communications, multimedia production, education, or related field.
  • Valid Class “C” Texas Driver’s license and maintain insurability.
  • Ability to sit for long periods while performing various assigned task.
  • Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, squat, and twist body while performing filing or storing office supplies.
  • Ability to lift storage boxes and supplies weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to grasp with hands and manipulate.
  • Ability to safely operate company vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge/proficiency of the GCA Purchasing procedures as needed.
  • Previous experience with technical writing, regulatory research and document preparation is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and formatting of training content related to wastewater treatment operations.
  • Support video production activities including scripting, filming, editing, and post-production tasks.
  • Compile and organize instructional materials, manuals, and job aids.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy.
  • Review and revise existing training materials for clarity, consistency, and accessibility.
  • Maintain organized digital filing systems for training content.
  • Participate in planning meetings and brainstorming sessions for improving training delivery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Assists in the development of high-quality training materials for plant personnel.
  • Ensures accurate and organized documentation for internal use.
  • Helps maintain a collaborative, creative, and organized training environment.
