About The Position

The Compliance Coordinator supports the day-to-day administration of the compliance and privacy program, helps maintain compliance documentation, coordinate training and communications, track audits and corrective actions, support HIPAA privacy and security activities, and assist with regulatory monitoring. This role ensures adherence to all federal and state regulations, supports ethical business conduct, mitigates organizational risk, and promotes a culture of compliance across all operations.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of HIPAA, healthcare compliance concepts, privacy practices, and documentation requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, judgment, communication, and follow-through skills.
  • Proficient with EMR/EHR systems, Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, shared files, and compliance tracking tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Legal Studies, Health Information Management, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation and maintenance of the compliance program in alignment with OIG guidance, HIPAA, and applicable federal and state healthcare requirements.
  • Coordinate Compliance Committee logistics, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, documenting minutes, tracking action items, and maintaining workplan updates.
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for routine compliance questions.
  • Assist with annual compliance risk assessment activities by gathering information, maintaining tracking tools, documenting key risks, and supporting updates to the compliance work plan.
  • Support HIPAA Privacy and Security program activities, including tracking privacy requests, assisting with incident documentation, maintaining logs, and coordinating follow-up as directed.
  • Coordinate compliance education activities for onboarding and annual training cycles, including scheduling, communications, completion tracking, and record maintenance.
  • Maintain compliance policies and procedures, assist with version control, coordinate periodic reviews, and support updates based on regulatory or operational changes.
  • Assist with auditing and monitoring activities by preparing materials, collecting documentation, tracking results, maintaining evidence files, and following up on corrective action items.
  • Prepare routine compliance reports, dashboards, and status updates for review by the Compliance Committee and leadership.
  • Support the intake, documentation, tracking, and resolution of compliance concerns, including coordination with HR, IT, clinical leadership, revenue cycle, and legal resources as directed.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
