The Information Governance and Risk Management team at Harris Beach Murtha is seeking a Compliance and Risk Specialist. This role is responsible for administering the firm's business insurance, managing the central contract database, and overseeing department policies and procedures. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in risk management, insurance, law firm or closely related experience
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
  • Sound judgment, a sense of accountability for working independently and proactively, and determination to work efficiently with competing project deadlines
  • Exhibit the ability to manage multiple projects independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Administer all business insurance for Harris Beach Murtha including 3 ancillary businesses. Business insurance includes; General liability, Auto, Umbrella, Cyber, Employment Practices Liability, Management Liability, Personal Group Umbrella, Professional Liability and Crime
  • Manage and advise on the renewal process for all lines of insurance coverage working with brokers to structure comprehensive and competitively priced insurance programs
  • Coordinate efforts, in conjunction with the executive leadership team and Risk Management Committee, to manage insurance renewals including limits, retention levels, rates and premiums and develop insurance renewal strategies and identify and place appropriate business insurance products
  • Recommend solutions to risk-related issues
  • Oversee production and management of certificates of insurance
  • Handle the administration of client contracts in accordance with company policies, procedures and legal requirements
  • Participate in the advancement of the Contract Management System
  • Manage, document and interpret contract information in the firm’s central repository
  • Manage the development and distribution of contract information to attorneys and administrators to assist in contract maintenance and renewals
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to the management of contracts
  • Participate in the Incident Response Team and notify insurer of incident if necessary
  • Audit all invoices for accuracy and timely payment
  • Assist with Risk Management special projects
