About The Position

The Complex Director of Engineering leads engineering operations across two resorts in Marathon, Florida, keeping both properties safe, reliable, efficient, and guest-ready. The role oversees preventive maintenance, capital projects and renovations, hurricane preparedness and recovery, inspection readiness, life safety, and utility cost control. The Director leads and schedules the engineering team around occupancy and event forecasts, addressing underlying causes of equipment issues so guests are not affected. This is a leadership role serving the Faro Blanco Resort and Courtyard by Marriott.

Requirements

At least 8 years of experience in hotel or resort engineering.
At least 3 years of experience leading a team.
Hands-on knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, and kitchen systems.
Capital project management experience, including budgets and contractor oversight.
Knowledge of Florida codes and life-safety requirements.
Forecasting and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to build and manage maintenance and capital budgets.
A preventive mindset and the ability to remain calm and decisive when equipment fails.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Transcendent preventive maintenance software.
Experience in upscale or full-service resort hospitality, including Hilton or Marriott.

Responsibilities

Lead the engineering team at both resorts and schedule work around occupancy and event forecasts.
Oversee preventive maintenance focused on resolving root causes and preventing recurring problems.
Plan and deliver capital projects and renovations on schedule and within budget.
Lead hurricane preparedness and storm recovery at both resorts.
Keep both resorts inspection-ready, safe, efficient, and within utility cost targets.
Manage maintenance and capital budgets.
