SambaNova is hiring a new graduate Compiler Engineer to work on core areas of its compiler, including intermediate representation (IR) and pass infrastructure, model lowering and partitioning, tensor tiling, memory management, and mapping operations onto the RDU fabric. The compiler powers SambaNova’s Reconfigurable Dataflow Unit (RDU) by fusing kernels into dataflow graphs that run across the accelerator architecture, avoiding sequential kernel launches and reducing memory traffic. The role involves writing production code in C++ and Python, debugging at a low level, and collaborating with runtime and hardware teams. Compiler and hardware design are closely linked, and the engineer will see how compiler decisions affect chip performance. Senior engineers will review code and provide mentorship as the new graduate takes on larger parts of the compiler.
