About The Position

The On-Call Commuter Shuttle Driver transports customers to and from a facility, greets passengers, and assists with loading and unloading. Requirements

• High school degree or GED equivalent.
• Must currently possess a valid commercial driver’s license with passenger endorsement and a current medical card; the posting lists Class B in the opening requirements and Class C in the minimum qualifications.
• Must have held a valid driver’s license for at least five years.
• Must provide a motor vehicle record for the past three years.
• Ability to operate a passenger van safely and efficiently.

• Strong written and spoken communication skills and a friendly, professional approach.
• Able to help resolve customer issues positively and helpfully.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience driving a shuttle bus or commercial vehicles preferred.
• At least one year of valet parking experience.
• At least one year of customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive a shuttle bus to transport customers to and from the facility.
• Greet passengers and assist with loading and unloading.
• Operate the shuttle bus safely and efficiently and comply with traffic and safety regulations.
• Monitor vehicle condition and record malfunctioning items or damage on appropriate forms.
• Use a two-way radio to communicate routes, arrivals, delays, customer pickups, and other vehicle or customer issues with dispatchers, drivers, and employees.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip shuttle bus inspections at the beginning and end of shifts.
• Monitor traffic and weather conditions and notify dispatch or a supervisor of potential problems.
• Report accidents and other safety situations to dispatch or a supervisor.
• Treat customers in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs.
