About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Coordinator, provides a wide range of direct, professional services to consumers with a diagnosis of chronic or persistent mental illness and co-occurring substance abuse disorders, with a history of psychiatric hospitalizations. These services are provided in the community by a team of professionals and not in an office modality. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s Mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements

Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field required.
A minimum of one year of professional experience working with persons with mental illness required.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing is required.
Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable means of transportation for job related use is required.
Background verification, and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, verification of an acceptable driving record, educational background check, and verification of an acceptable work history.
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

On a case by case basis, may assess and consider an applicant with two years of paraprofessional experience working with persons with mental illness.
