Inclusion Langley Society is a leading non-profit organization providing services and support to children, youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Langley and surrounding communities. Established in 1959, the Society delivers a comprehensive range of community-based programs that support over 3,000 individuals annually in achieving greater independence, inclusion and quality of life. Our Community Support Workers play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to build skills, pursue their goals, strengthen relationships, and participate in meaningful community activities. Reporting to the Program Supervisor, we have two (2) regular part-time Community Support Worker positions available where the successful incumbents will be providing person-centered support to an adult male with developmental disability and acquired brain injury. The successful candidate needs to ensure the individual has the opportunity for overall personal growth, community inclusion, recreation, potential employment, and assist in maintaining/expanding personal networks with a focus on health. The successful incumbents will work collaboratively with individuals, families, colleagues, and community partners to promote independence, dignity, choice, and inclusion. Requirements

  • Diploma in Community Social Services or a related field. A combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Minimum one year of direct support experience with individuals with developmental disabilities, including those with complex medical or behavioural needs.
  • Strong understanding of community inclusion, person‑centered practices, and positive behaviour support strategies (training in behavioural intervention is an asset).
  • Experience supporting individuals in community‑based settings is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to remain professional, compassionate, and calm in high‑stress situations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to follow prescribed lifting, transferring, and behaviour support techniques.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts based on individual needs.
  • This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle (Class 4 an asset).
  • Valid Intermediate First Aid, Food Safe, and TB Health Certificate.

  • Assist with financial record keeping, including petty cash and individual expense tracking.
  • Provide 1:1 community‑based supports aligned with individual service plans.
  • Support participation in community, social, and recreational activities.
  • Implement positive behavioural support and behaviour management strategies.
  • Respond appropriately to challenging situations while maintaining safety and professionalism.
  • Complete required documentation and follow organizational policies.
