About The Position

This is a summer job opportunity as a Community Recreation Co-ordinator. The role involves assisting the Adult Day Program team in implementing and evaluating social and recreational programs for frail and cognitively impaired seniors. Responsibilities include delivering in-person programming, conducting client satisfaction surveys, working directly with staff, providing customer service to clients, assisting in scheduling, and maintaining accurate records. There is also an opportunity to participate in special projects.

Requirements

Student in or graduate of Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation & Leisure, SSW-G, Health Sciences or related field.
Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook and other social media platforms.
Very good interpersonal and communication skills.
Between the ages of 15 and 30.
Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

Desire to gain experience working with a multi-disciplinary team environment.
Desire to develop assessment, communication and problem solving skills.
Ability to speak the official languages (English & French) and/or other languages.
