About The Position

Humber River Health is recruiting for three (3) Summer Students for the Financial Planning, Analytics and Business Insight Team. This team is responsible for ensuring the financial and operational effectiveness of the organization, with a focus on planning, analysis and performance. The role offers hands-on exposure and contribution to the team's success. It is designed for students currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Management or Analytics (or equivalent). Humber River Health is North America’s first fully digital hospital, serving 850,000 residents in North West Toronto. They are affiliated with the University of Toronto and Queen’s University and are committed to becoming a community academic hospital, focusing on Clinical Excellence, Optimizing Care through Technology, and Community Connection in their Research Strategy. The organization emphasizes Equity, Inclusivity, and active participation in the North West Toronto Ontario Health Team. This position will be on-site and is a Temporary Full-Time role with a duration until August 31, 2026.

Requirements

  • Preferred candidate will be enrolled in a recognized Business, Healthcare Management or Analytics program at an accredited university and is able to work regular office hours throughout the summer months (May to end of August)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • A performance-focused, results-oriented approach with a strong work ethic and determination to achieve success
  • Strong ownership mentality with exceptional self-motivation, ambition, and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, and motivational skills
  • Solid analytical capabilities and structured thinking
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required

Responsibilities

  • Be involved with the implementation and testing of the hospital’s new ERP and Business Intelligence systems
  • Gathering and analyzing industry comparative data
  • Conduct testing, reconciliation and validation of business data, reports, dashboards and datasets
  • Aid in the creation of presentations for leadership team
  • Provide administrative support to the Planning and Analytics team
  • Assisting in ad hoc analysis as required by the team
  • Assisting team with month-end activities
