About The Position

As a member of Mental Health and Addiction Services, the Community Mental Health Nurse is an integral part of the multidisciplinary team providing intensive case management to individuals with chronic and persistent mental illness. These services are provided within an individual and group context. Responsibilities include intensive case management, medication management, crisis intervention, counseling, goal planning, consultation to community agencies, group/community education, student mentoring, documentation, client/family and public education and mental health promotion.

Requirements

  • 3 years experience in a community or acute mental health setting
  • Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing (BPN)
  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
  • Bachelor of Nursing is acceptable
  • Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Workplace Assessment & Violence Education (WAVE)
  • Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Advanced - Communication skills
  • Advanced - Organizational skills
  • Ability to be flexible and willing to change
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to work independently
  • Travel required
  • Registered/eligible with College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of SK - CRPNS
  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
