Community Marketing Coordinator- NorCal

Barry's•San Francisco, CA
•Onsite

About The Position

Barry's is hiring a Community Marketing Coordinator to create opportunities for prospective customers to attend their first class and encourage them to return. The role owns local event marketing, including in-studio community nights and bring-a-friend classes, as well as out-of-studio pop-ups, run clubs, and partnerships with local brands, employers, and buildings. Events are evaluated by first-class acquisition and repeat visits. The coordinator owns the local event calendar across studios and collaborates with Studio Managers and instructors to build a repeatable cadence of first-timer programming, with particular emphasis on new studios. The role also develops local partnerships and an ambassador program, sets acquisition and conversion targets, reports on performance, and manages the local budget and event P&L. This is a hands-on, on-the-ground position. The coordinator attends and leads every activation they own, handles or delegates setup and breakdown, transports event materials, and manages venue and vendor logistics, including load-in, storage, permitting, and day-of troubleshooting. The work takes place across multiple sites and involves being on one's feet and handling event materials.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in community, field, or event marketing.
  • A track record of events tied to measurable acquisition outcomes, not just attendance.
  • Deep familiarity with New York and existing local relationships that can be activated.
  • Strong project management skills and comfort with data.
  • Willingness to take a hands-on role and work in studio.
  • Reliable local transportation.
  • Ability to lift and haul event materials and work on one's feet across multiple sites in a single day.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in fitness, wellness, hospitality, or a consumer brand with physical locations.

Responsibilities

  • Own the local event calendar across all studios and develop recurring first-timer programming with Studio Managers and instructors, with particular emphasis on new studios.
  • Design and execute off-site activations and pop-ups in high-density neighborhoods and at local events or moments.
  • Build partnerships with local brands, hospitality and retail businesses, run clubs, corporate organizations, and residential buildings to reach prospective customers.
  • Grow a local ambassador program and equip instructors to bring their networks to Barry's.
  • Set targets and report on first-timer acquisition, cost per first-timer, and first-to-second-visit conversion; manage the local budget and event P&L.
  • Attend and lead each owned in-studio and off-site activation in person.
  • Source, prepare, and transport event materials, such as signage, sampling products, swag, technology, and tables, to and from studios and off-site venues using a personal vehicle or approved local transport.
  • Lead event setup and breakdown, or delegate and directly brief Studio Managers, instructors, or ambassadors when covering multiple sites at once.
  • Manage day-of logistics with venues, building management, and vendors, including load-in windows, storage, permitting, and troubleshooting.
