About The Position

Community Maintenance Technicians play an important role in keeping our apartment communities operating safely, efficiently, and at a high standard. They respond to resident service requests, troubleshoot and complete repairs, prepare apartment homes for new residents, and help maintain the overall condition of the community. This role is ideal for individuals who are mechanically inclined, enjoy troubleshooting and fixing things, and take pride in doing quality work. Experience in construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, facilities maintenance, or other skilled trades can provide a great foundation for this role. Gaines Investment Trust is looking for candidates interested in a hands-on career in property management.

Nice To Haves

• Previous apartment maintenance experience
• Relevant hands-on experience from other industries
• Previous experience in apartment maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, construction, facilities maintenance, or a related skilled trade

Responsibilities

• Completing resident service requests promptly and professionally
• Troubleshooting and repairing plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, and other apartment systems
• Performing general repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the community
• Preparing vacant apartments for new residents, including completing repairs and ensuring homes are move-in ready
• Inspecting apartments, common areas, and building systems for maintenance needs
• Assisting with the upkeep of community amenities, grounds, and common areas
• Identifying and reporting maintenance or safety concerns
• Maintaining tools, equipment, supplies, and work areas
• Providing professional and courteous service when interacting with residents
• Working closely with the onsite team to keep the community operating at a high standard
