About The Position

This position works 43 Weeks per year. Work hours are 10:30am - 6:00pm. This is a grant funded position and funding is awarded on a year by year basis. Develops and implements school based programs and services in partnership with community based organizations to support the needs of students and families. Maintains accurate program records and reports. Performs duties as required by the 21st Century Community Learning Center and Title I grants.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate a computer, knowledge of computer programs such as Google, Microsoft Office, etc., as well as work with video and/or audio equipment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing and ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community.
  • Work collaboratively with EVSC employees, vendors and community partners in a teamwork-driven environment

  • Completed at least two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education; or
  • obtained an associate's degree (or higher); or
  • met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics by having passed the state approved formal Para pro assessment.
  • Experience in coordinating programs and working with children, as well as knowledge of educational principles is a must.
  • Ability to read and comprehend correspondence, memos, instructions, and documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence clearly and concisely and using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Ability to speak effectively with individuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and/or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Almost continually required to sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to see and read close work such as typed or handwritten material and have good depth perception.
  • Must be able to hear conversation and communicate through speech.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Required to perform the same hand, arm, and/or finger motion many times.
  • Must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to push items of 50 pounds or more, such as pushing items on a cart.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or completed college course work is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit program staff, manage site budget/payroll, and coordinate after school transport for the school site.
  • Maintain and track regular attendance at all events and programs.
  • Maintain accurate program data, including Cayen Data System reports and federal reporting system.
  • Fulfill direct program facilitation, as needed.
  • Build a program implementation model which will provide high quality program delivery, creating linkage to school day offerings and ensure performance measures are met.
  • Monitor site progress against target outcomes and implement improvement strategies as needed.
  • Identify and recruit students for all out of school time programs in consultation with teachers, counselors, social workers, and other staff.
  • Participate in all external meetings that pertain to 21st Century Programs, Title I, and Community and Family outreach work.
  • Work with principals, teachers, and other family engagement staff to maintain accurate data on out of school time programs, volunteers, community programs, and parent engagement initiatives/outreach.
  • Nurture relationships and serve as a liaison between school staff, parents, volunteers and community based organizations.
  • Work closely with the school administrator to develop a Family and Community Engagement advisory team.
  • Organize and attend regularly scheduled site council / advisory meetings.
  • Work with the advisory team to help develop welcoming approaches, programs, and activities designed to engage families and the community.
  • Organize/coordinate monthly family engagement activities which align with 21st CCLC Grant, School Improvement Plan, and Title I requirements.
  • Follow the EVSC Title I Family Engagement Policy guidelines to help engage the community and families in meaningful ways.
  • Assist in supervision of after-school non-certified instructors and assistants.
