•$48,000 - $56,417•Onsite

About The Position

The Community Health/Emergency Social Services Worker (CHW) provides health education and service-navigation support to CASA members facing emergencies, crises, or general illness. The position works on projects to improve health outcomes and address social determinants of health among Baltimore’s immigrant community, including case management and navigation for eviction prevention, food and basic needs, utility assistance, and health coverage enrollment. Working alongside Health Promoters, the CHW helps implement culturally and linguistically proficient health education through outreach, workshops, and individual support. Activities focus on prevention, early detection, and management of common and chronic illnesses, and on connecting community members with primary care, mental health resources, and community-based services. The CHW recruits, engages, enrolls, and screens participants for health programs and clinics, and helps them address barriers to care, including language, transportation, and documentation concerns. The role requires a professional, approachable candidate with bilingual English/Spanish proficiency (or professional proficiency in two languages), strong customer service, communication, and outreach skills, and experience serving immigrant and working-class families. The employee shares time between CASA, Inc. and its related organization, CASA in Action; this does not affect salary or benefits. The position may require occasional nights and weekends and in-person outreach and services.
