About The Position

The main purpose of this position is to provide individual in-person and telephone counseling, along with leading group educational classes for pregnant and breastfeeding women. This position also assists in maintaining a breastfeeding-friendly clinic.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
• No experience required.
• Candidates may substitute experience providing assistance to individuals in a health care or social services setting on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
• Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

Nice To Haves

• Experience breastfeeding at least one child.
• Experience demonstrating enthusiasm about breastfeeding and helping mothers to have a positive/successful breastfeeding experience.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
• Availability to work the tri-county (Charles, Calvert, St. Mary's).

• Assist in maintaining a breastfeeding-friendly clinic.

Benefits

• Subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents (75% paid by the State of Maryland, 25% paid by employee) for contractual employees working 30 or more hours a week.

• Leave granted at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year for contractual employees.
