Community Health Nurse
About The Position
The Department of Health is responsible for health services and social programming in Nunavut. Staff at the Department of Health work to improve the health and well-being of Nunavummiut by addressing the differing needs of each community through culturally appropriate programs and services. Reporting to the Supervisor, Health Programs, the Community Health Nurse (CHN) assists clients in promotion, protection and restoration of health, to educate about, prevent and reduce the incidence of disease, disability and death. The incumbent provides a comprehensive community health service in conjunction with the health care team and works within the context of Primary Health care to improve the capacity of clients to adapt to, respond to or control, life’s challenges, and changes.

Responsibilities
- Assists clients in promotion, protection and restoration of health

- Provides a comprehensive community health service in conjunction with the health care team
