About The Position

Cardinal McCloskey Community Services (CMCS) is hiring a Community Habilitation Specialist to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in building independence and achieving personal goals. The role involves teaching daily living skills, encouraging community participation, providing support with appointments, recreation, and personal care, and creating a safe and respectful environment. Specialists also document services and drive individuals to activities using agency vehicles. The listed schedule is a morning shift, 7 AM–3 PM.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Positive attitude, compassion, and willingness to help.
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Valid New York State driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
Comfort using basic technology tools for documentation.
Ability to maintain AMAP, CPR, First Aid, and PROMOTE certifications.
Ability to safely lift and assist up to 70 pounds.
Ability to participate in moderate physical activities, such as walking and dancing.

Nice To Haves

College coursework or Direct Support Professional (DSP) certifications.

Responsibilities
