Part-time Community Float Pharmacist
About The Position
Genoa Healthcare is seeking a part-time pharmacist to perform professional duties and responsibilities associated with prescription processing. The position is based primarily at the Akron, Ohio pharmacy and provides support at the Canton, Ohio pharmacy as needed. The pharmacist may also provide occasional coverage at other Genoa Healthcare locations within approximately one hour of Akron when business needs arise. The role helps maintain continuity of care by ensuring patients, many of whom receive behavioral health services, have uninterrupted access to medications and pharmacy support across locations. The pharmacist works as part of a coordinated care team serving behavioral health and addiction treatment communities. Genoa Healthcare partners with community-based providers to help people with complex health conditions obtain the right medications and follow their treatment plans through services including in-clinic pharmacies and medication management. The position is 24 hours per week. Pharmacy hours are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with no weekends or holidays. Work locations include Portage Path Behavioral Health in Akron and Phoenix Rising Behavioral Health in Canton, Ohio. The role requires a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD.
- Current pharmacist license in the state of Ohio.
- Certified immunizer.
- Willingness to complete LAI training and administer LAI.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities
- Distribute drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners.
- Provide customers with information about medications and their use.
- Provide a superior level of customer service.
- Ensure compliance with applicable State Board of Pharmacy laws.
- Administer immunizations as allowed by State Boards of Pharmacy.
- Complete LAI training and administer LAI.
- Perform other usual and customary pharmacy duties.
- Provide pharmacy coverage primarily in Akron, as needed in Canton, and occasionally at other Genoa Healthcare locations within approximately one hour of Akron.
