About The Position

The Community Events Coordinator shall oversee all aspects of community events and health screenings, which include manpower, materials, and logistics. As a member of the Marketing team, this individual will play a pivotal role to plan and execute a wide range of events to foster positive relationships between the hospital system and the local community. The Coordinator will have the opportunity to utilize exceptional organizational and communication skills to coordinate engaging and impactful events that promote health awareness and strengthen community ties. The Coordinator will also work to support health equity initiatives with the primary contact at partnering organizations to plan health screenings and education sessions. The Community Events Coordinator will serve as a primary spokesperson for Baptist Health, presenting the organization in the most positive light while promoting all Baptist Health brands in the community, in speaking engagements and/or media interviews. For MCC, this individual shall be responsible to oversee all aspects of community education and screening events within the River Region. The Coordinator will oversee the operations of mobile cancer screening and education program with an emphasis on deployment of the mobile screening vehicle. This role may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Event Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in marketing, public relations or community events.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.
  • Strong team leadership skills.
  • Strong organization, interpersonal, and customer relations skills.
  • Must be able to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Must be able to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to develop trust with leaders in the organizations.
  • Ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Proven track record of successful performance.
  • Ability to understand complex multifactor situations and bring appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Proven experience in event planning and execution, preferably in a healthcare or community organization setting.
  • Proficiency in using event management software, and social media platforms.

  • Supervisory experience preferred.
