About The Position

The Community Engagement Programs Manager oversees the daily operations, team, and community-facing activities within ConnectAbility of MN’s Programs Department. This role focuses on smooth program execution, strong community relationships, and effective supervision of program staff. It is ideal for someone who is organized, people-centered, and experienced in managing multiple programs.

Requirements

  • Degree OR equivalent experience in management, community engagement, and nonprofit administration.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM tools.
  • Creative, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comfortable representing the organization at public events and outreach.
  • Ability to lift and move program-related materials or equipment as needed (up to 40lbs).
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites and events.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement community-facing programs, including events, volunteer initiatives, outreach campaigns, and educational activities.
  • Oversee program logistics such as scheduling, setup, materials, staffing, and follow-through.
  • Ensure all programs run smoothly, meet established targets, and have the resources they need.
  • Provide program coverage and support when team is out of the office.
  • Directly manages Program Administrators across Community Engagement, Donated Equipment Program, Assistive Technology & Mobility Lab, Community Engagement Administrators at satellite offices, Adaptive Equipment Connection, and additional programs as they are developed.
  • Coaching, development, scheduling, and day-to-day support of Connect Programs Team.
  • Conducting weekly and quarterly ConnectVersations and follow-up.
  • Ensuring team members adhere to established procedures, values, and organization standards.
  • Maintaining cross-training and flow of communication.
  • Manage all aspects of team attendance, scheduling, timecard and time off approval.
  • Communicate clearly with team regarding attendance, discrepancies, or coverage responsibilities.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team and Director of Community Engagement to ensure that social media, newsletters, storytelling, and digital campaigns align with Community Engagement program goals.
  • Provide program updates, success stories, and content needed to Marketing.
  • Assist in promoting programs, events, and outreach opportunities.
  • Track key engagement metrics including: Attendance, Volunteer hours (in collaboration with Development), Community partnerships, Outreach activities, Donor touches (in collaboration with Development).
  • Maintain accurate program data in internal systems and tools.
  • Provide reports and insights to inform strategy, grant reporting, budgeting, and department planning.
  • Support grant administration by ensuring program data, outcomes, and requirements are captured and communicated to the Development Department.
  • Serve as a public-facing representative of ConnectAbility of MN at working-level community events, vendor booths and outreach tables, networking events, and program-specific initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, volunteers, and service organizations.
  • Promote ConnectAbility of MN Community Engagement Programs and services to community members, professionals, and partner agencies.
  • Oversee quarterly inventories for: Donated Equipment Program, Assistive Technology & Mobility Lab, Assistive Technology Lending Library.
  • Support the Finance Department with purchasing, invoicing, collection, and family investment processes.
  • Coordinate communication for program applicants, including application updates, decision notifications, and follow-up requests (photos, impact statements, etc.).
  • Liaison with the Adaptive Equipment Connection committee including scheduling, agendas, updates, and recap notes.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
