About The Position
JEVS is hiring a Community Employment Specialist for its HireAbility customized employment program. The program assists individuals living with an intellectual disability, mental illness, physical disability, or chronic disease by preparing them for employment. The position serves the Camden County area of New Jersey, with the title also referencing Atlantic and Cumberland Counties. The specialist manages an assigned caseload and supports job seekers in setting and tracking goals, identifying suitable employment, pursuing interviews, and developing their skills in current jobs. The role involves assessing each job seeker’s overall life experiences, interests, and abilities, as well as building relationships with employers.
Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned caseload and develop, change, and track results of job seekers’ goals.
- Match job seekers’ interests and abilities with available jobs.
- Identify new employers and nurture relationships with existing employers.
- Assess each job seeker, considering total life experiences, work history, and interests.
- Support job seekers in obtaining interviews for identified jobs and attend interviews when needed.
- Support employed participants in increasing skills, abilities, hours, duties, and authority as desired by the participant.
