About The Position

The Community Education Assistant guides and facilitates program activities with a strong emphasis on safety, positive behavior, and participant engagement. This position supports daily site operations by implementing age-appropriate programming, maintaining organized and compliant envisionments and communicating effectively with families and school staff to ensure high-quality program delivery. The Community Education Assistant ensures the supervision and safety of all children in their care and fosters effective communication and interaction with children, parents, team members, volunteers, coaches and supervisors.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Six (6) months of childcare experience
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to supervise 20 or more children
  • Flexibility to cover at other program sites, as necessary, daily.
  • Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.
  • Arizona IVP Level 1 Fingerprint Card
  • Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
  • Must hold a current Driver’s license and personal vehicle insurance coverage greater than or equal to the state required minimum for car insurance as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.
  • Reliable mode of personal transportation with evidence of auto insurance policy. Coverage must be valid throughout term of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR/First Aid Certification (required 90 days after hire). Certification must be maintained current during course of employment.
  • Pass the Arizona Central Registry Background Check on an annual basis
  • Complete 24 hours of the Department of Economic Services (DES) health and safety classes (required within 90 days of hire)
  • Complete and maintain 24 hours of required Department of Health Services (DHS) training per year.
  • Complete district onboarding training within 10 days of hire.
