About The Position

The Justice Project is hiring Community Canvassers and Team Leaders in Flint, Michigan, to conduct door-to-door voter outreach through November 3, with possible advancement afterward. The campaign supports candidates who champion progressive values and aims to encourage voters to support progressive leaders down the ballot, including State Supreme Court Justices. This role offers experience in leadership, communication and advocacy, community outreach and engagement, campaign work, public policy, and social enterprise. Canvassing positions start at $24 per hour, and Team Leader positions start at $26 per hour. The employer offers overtime pay, driver bonuses, shift bonuses, paid training, sick pay, and bonuses for friend referrals. Shifts are available from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM or 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM, on weekdays and weekends. Part-time and full-time schedules are possible.

Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Upon hire, must present original, unexpired documents from the Lists of Acceptable Documents to complete I-9 verification.

Responsibilities

Engage with the public in a friendly and respectful manner.
Deliver a compelling campaign message and collect complete survey answers from voters.
Participate in staff training to improve outreach skills.
Follow the campaign's safety protocols.
As a Team Leader, manage a small group of field canvassers by checking in with them periodically and debriefing with them at the end of the day.
As a Team Leader, ensure each canvasser has the materials needed to succeed.
As a Team Leader, assist directors with canvasser training and administrative work.
