About The Position

The Community Associate (Manager in Training) is a full-time, salaried role that introduces newcomers to community management. The associate shadows community managers in the regional office and begins training to become a portfolio manager. Once their knowledge and expertise are sufficient to manage a portfolio of properties, they may be eligible for promotion to Community Manager. The transition typically takes six to eighteen months, with the supervisor using check-ins and performance reviews to assess readiness. Training combines learning-management-system modules with hands-on experience. Associates work with a mentor or shadow an experienced team member, assist different departments, attend on-site meetings and inspections, and perform administrative-assistant duties to gain insight into the Community Manager role. They also attend monthly in-house training meetings for community managers.
