About The Position

Under general supervision, with some latitude for independent initiative and decision making, the Community Associate performs responsible work in support of the Safety and Security CCTV Unit. The position supports CCTV contract turnover and upgrade requests, day-to-day operations, research and processing of requests, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. Once trained, the employee will also assist in obtaining CCTV footage for law enforcement and court purposes.

The role includes active physical inspections of CCTV and LAC equipment in buildings, requiring substantial walking, stair climbing, and standing for extended periods. Office of Safety & Security employees must hold confidential information in trust and strict confidence; unauthorized sharing is prohibited.

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community-centered activities in an area related to the duties described; or equivalent education and/or experience.
• Maintain confidential information in trust and strict confidence; unauthorized information sharing is prohibited.
• Ability to perform work involving substantial walking, climbing stairs, and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Review, process, and maintain numerous logs, and close out CCTV contract turnover and upgrade requests.
• Assist with daily CCTV operations, including scheduling, preparing relevant materials, and maintaining the database.
• Work with staff to research and process requests, including conducting internal and external inspections.
• Correspond with staff from various departments, vendors, contractors, NYPD, and other law enforcement agencies as needed to process reports.
• Once trained, assist the team in obtaining CCTV footage for law enforcement and court purposes.
• Conduct physical building inspections of CCTV and LAC equipment.
