The Special Education Teacher prepares students for meaningful lives by contributing to their spiritual, educational, physical, emotional, and social development. In alignment with Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) requirements, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504, and organizational policies, the teacher provides specialized instruction, support services, and individualized educational programming for community-based students with disabilities. The Special Education Teacher develops and implements Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborates with families and multidisciplinary teams, and creates inclusive learning environments that support academic achievement, behavioral growth, emotional development, and positive life outcomes. The teacher serves as a role model by demonstrating professionalism, compassion, accountability, and a commitment to the organization’s mission and values.
