About The Position

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is seeking a part-time Communications Support Intern for a year-long appointment. The intern will support the setup, troubleshooting, and deployment of Cisco VoIP devices, perform analog troubleshooting and repairs, and maintain documentation of deployed devices. This role offers an opportunity to work with a dedicated team managing the Cisco VoIP phone network, analog devices, voice gateways, and emergency notification equipment across the University of Florida and UF Health. The team collectively maintains approximately 23,000 devices.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be a UF student eligible to work on campus.
• Must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist in phone configuration changes.
• Assist in the physical setup for new phone deployments.
• Assist in documentation for new phone deployments and phone updates.
