About The Position

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is seeking a talented and highly motivated, part-time Communications Support Intern for a year-long appointment. The intern will support the setup, troubleshooting, and deployment of Cisco VoIP devices, perform analog troubleshooting and repairs, and maintain documentation of deployed devices across campus. This role offers an opportunity to work with dedicated employees focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida's community. The UFIT Communications Support team manages and supports the Cisco VoIP phone network, analog devices, voice gateways, and emergency notification equipment across campus and UF Health, including approximately 23,000 devices.

Requirements

  • MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE
  • Must be a UF student eligible to work on campus.
  • Must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in phone configuration changes.
  • Assist in the physical setup for new phone deployments.
  • Assist in documentation for new phone deployments and phone updates.
  • Assist in troubleshooting VoIP and analog issues.
