The City of Burbank is currently hiring for Communications Operator. This role involves answering emergency (911) and non-emergency phone lines, maintaining contact with law enforcement personnel and other City units in the field, and dispatching appropriate units or equipment in response to calls received through the Burbank Police Department (BPD) Communications Center. Candidates must complete a department application and a written exam through National Testing Network, selecting the City of Burbank to share results. A candidate PHQ must also be completed by the closing date. The City of Burbank is also hiring for Lateral Communications Operator; please see that separate posting for details. Communications Operators in the Police Department are eligible for POST pay based on their certificate level (Intermediate, Advanced, Supervisory), up to 5% of their base pay.
