About The Position

This position is for a Federal Work Study student to assist the Communications Office. The role involves managing social media, creating content for various communication needs, managing the program's website, and graphic design for marketing materials. The assistant will also help with digital advertising, event planning, and other administrative duties as assigned. The position requires strong writing, editing, and design skills, with a focus on visual storytelling and maintaining brand consistency for the UF IPPD program.

Requirements

  • Efficient worker with excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Versatile team player who is organized, dependable, and a self-starter.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in communications, public relations, marketing, advertising, media production, journalism, or a related field.
  • Federal Work Study (FWS) eligibility is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with social media management and analytics, including LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Proficiency with Canva Pro.
  • Experience with WordPress.
  • Experience with Mailchimp and similar platforms for marketing campaigns.
  • Experience in outbound marketing targeted at university students.
  • Strong English writing skills for print and online communications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience with interviewing people.
  • Experience with trend analysis and web-based data analytics to make data-driven campaign decisions.
  • Knowledge of SEO and SEM.

Responsibilities

  • Manage social media sites, including graphic design, content calendar, publishing, and monitoring analytics.
  • Develop content for communications needs, including writing, editing, and design for publications like brochures, invitations, flyers, emails, and marketing collateral.
  • Manage the program's website, including writing and editing content, and assisting students with blog sites.
  • Create and edit media content for program marketing, ensuring a cohesive visual identity and adherence to brand standards.
  • Assist with day-to-day communications, focusing on visual storytelling and design.
  • Assist the IPPD Administrative Assistant with event planning, logistics, branding, and promotion.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
