About The Position

The Boeing Company’s Defense, Space & Security organization is seeking an experienced or lead Communications & Network Systems Engineer to support System Network Architecting and Application Engineering for the Gigabit Ethernet Data Multiplex System (GEDMS) in Huntington Beach, California. GEDMS is a geographically distributed program responsible for designing and sustaining ship-wide network system variants for U.S. Navy and foreign ships, using ruggedized switching, routing, and message/signal-processing equipment. The engineer will support system engineering work assigned by the U.S. Navy customer, including network design and architecture development, requirements derivation, use cases, functional analysis, specifications, verification, and validation. The role supports major shipboard design variants and involves coordinating with internal and external team members and communicating with the customer. The position is expected to be 100% onsite in Huntington Beach. The role also supports deployment and integration of GEDMS across U.S. and foreign Navy laboratories and ships, including assistance to Boeing field engineers and customer in-service engineers. The position may include technical management and project planning, task assignment and mentoring, and coordination of facilities and laboratory configuration and operation.
