About The Position

The Boeing Company’s Boeing Defense, Space & Security organization is hiring Experienced and Lead Systems Engineers (Levels 3 or 4) to support SEIT Integration & Certification in Hazelwood, Missouri. The role supports a proprietary program for Boeing and Department of Defense customers, collaborating with subject matter experts across the program to design and develop a highly integrated weapons system.

The selected engineer will help lead the implementation and advancement of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering strategies. This includes guiding system architects, engineering experts, and stakeholders in shaping and managing the MBSE approach, in coordination with systems engineering teams and program leadership. The role requires working and leading collaboratively on-site across engineering disciplines in a fast-paced environment, with strong technical, organizational, leadership, written, and verbal communication skills.

The position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for the clearance. A clearance active within the past 24 months is considered active. Travel may be required up to 20% domestically and/or internationally, depending on business needs. The position also requires compliance with U.S. export control requirements and a successful Company Conflict of Interest assessment. Boeing will not sponsor employment visas. Relocation is available based on candidate eligibility.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
• At least 4 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required. A clearance active within the past 24 months is considered active.
• Ability to meet U.S. export control compliance requirements as a U.S. Person.
• Successful completion of the Company Conflict of Interest assessment process.

Nice To Haves

• For Level 4: at least 7 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
• Experience with MBSE tools such as CAMEO or a similar Systems Modeling Language (SysML)-compatible tool for systems architecture and model development.
• Experience with Mission Systems and Weapon System development.

Responsibilities

• Regularly brief customers and Boeing leadership on technical approach, progress, and support needed.
• Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify lifecycle-balanced systems of systems and system solutions.
• Evaluate customer and operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and ensure compatibility of physical, functional, and program interfaces.
• Perform analyses to optimize systems of systems and/or system architecture.
• Analyze affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory and certification needs, product assurance, and other quality factors to identify a preferred configuration and ensure mission success.
• Develop planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of requirements management processes and tools, risk and issue management, opportunity management, and technology readiness assessment processes.
• Resolve cross-functional technical issues.
• Guide system architects, engineering experts, and stakeholders in shaping and managing the MBSE approach.
