About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking System Engineers to support the SEIT Integration & Certification in Hazelwood, MO. Join an exciting and high-impact proprietary program that plays a critical role for Boeing and our DoD customers. As the selected candidate, you will collaborate with subject matter experts across the program to design and develop a cutting-edge, highly integrated weapons system. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the implementation and advancement of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering strategies. You will guide system architects, engineering experts, and key stakeholders in shaping and managing the MBSE approach, working closely with system engineering teams and program leadership. The ability to work and lead in a collaborative team environment on-site and across engineering disciplines will be imperative to this role. The selected individual will work in a fast-paced, innovative environment where excellent technical, organizational, leadership, written and verbal communications skills are essential. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced and Lead (Levels 3 or 4) System Engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 4+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
  • Must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • Level 4: 7+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, such as CAMEO or similar Systems Modeling Language (SysML)-compatible tool for systems architecture and model development.
  • Experience with Mission Systems and Weapon System development

Responsibilities

  • Regularly briefs customers and Boeing leadership on technical approach, progress, and help needed
  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
  • Evaluates customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
  • Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
  • Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
  • Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
  • Resolves cross-functional technical issues.
