REBUILD.US is a national organization of disaster survivors and community leaders from climate-impacted regions, dedicated to building a new response to climate shocks. They aim to care for people and achieve lasting solutions by treating each disaster as a moment of trauma and possibility. Their work involves organizing money through a rapid-response fundraising and grantmaking platform, organizing people by bringing survivors and communities together, and organizing attention through a creative command center and strategic communications. REBUILD.US is fiscally sponsored by Assets Under Movement (AUM+). The Communications Director will be a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for executing the organization's communications, narrative, and brand-building strategy to advance its theory of change. This role requires an expert in producing high-quality materials quickly and collaborating with a diverse team across digital communications, social media, brand, design, media relations, narrative strategy, and influencer strategy. The position will lead a comprehensive communications program during both rapid-response climate disaster moments and "blue sky" periods to support organizing, fundraising, and advocacy campaigns, and to advance the overall narrative change and brand-building strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of audience targeting, competing for attention in the new media landscape, and a rigorous approach to goal setting, testing, measuring impact, and integrating lessons learned. This is a significant opportunity to shape the country's political, cultural, and economic landscape by redefining disaster response and building the editorial and narrative infrastructure of a rapidly growing national organization.
