REBUILD.US is advancing a new model for disaster response, channeling private donations during climate shocks to immediate care and relief operations, and enlisting survivors to organize for systems change. Launched in August 2025, REBUILD.US is a fundraising and grantmaking platform that moves funds within 48 hours of a disaster to experienced, local leaders. It serves as both a rapid response platform for a mass audience and shared infrastructure for aligned partners in philanthropy, labor, organizing, and policy. The current system often channels funds to legacy organizations that provide temporary aid and do not stay for long-term recovery, failing to invest in local organizations or address systemic issues exacerbated by climate disasters. REBUILD.US's pilot, built at Organizing Resilience, moved $16 million across 21 disasters to 125 local organizations. REBUILD.US aims to raise and direct 10% of all private philanthropic dollars given during climate disasters and is fiscally sponsored by Assets Under Movement.
