REBUILD.US is a national organization of disaster survivors and community leaders from climate-impacted regions focused on building a new response to climate shocks. They aim to care for people and win lasting solutions by organizing money, people, and attention. The organization operates through a fundraising and grantmaking platform, a national disaster survivors association, and a creative command center for strategic communications. REBUILD.US is fiscally sponsored by Assets Under Movement (AUM+). The Communications Director is a senior leadership role responsible for executing the organization's communications, narrative, and brand-building strategy to advance its theory of change. This role requires an expert in producing high-quality materials quickly and collaborating with a diverse team across digital communications, social media, brand, design, media relations, narrative strategy, and influencer strategy. The position will lead a comprehensive communications program for both rapid-response climate disaster moments and long-term "blue sky" periods, aiming to power organizing, fundraising, and advocacy campaigns, and advance narrative change and brand-building. The role emphasizes audience targeting, competing for attention in the new media landscape, rigorous goal setting, testing strategies, measuring impact, and integrating lessons learned. This is an opportunity to shape the political, cultural, and economic landscape by redefining disaster understanding and building the editorial and narrative infrastructure of a fast-growing national organization.
