About The Position

The Communications Coordinator assists the Transfer Center nurse with placing patients into, out of, and within the Tower Health system. This includes support with patient placement, direct admissions, transfers, and referrals.

The role handles EMS call intake and emergency medical dispatch triage, and dispatches EMS, EVS staff, in-house transport resources, wheelchair vans, security, and emergency teams. The coordinator also arranges outsourced transport requests not handled by TowerDIRECT units, manages transfer center cases, and responds to Emergency Management requests.

Requirements

• Complete and maintain all competencies and trainings required for the role.
• Post-high-school diploma program, or a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of the program.
• Obtain National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) 700, 800, 100, and 200 certifications within six months of hire.
• BLS certification.
