Communications Content Creator-SW
About The Position
The student will assist the OWU Sports Information department in creating content for the OWU Athletics website and social media pages. Content will include (but is not limited to) photo galleries, videos, graphics, podcast, and written materials (e.g. game recaps, feature stories, etc.). This job is a great starting point for a student who wants to pursue a career in sports, communications, or content creation. The student will gain valuable experience within the inner-workings of college athletics and have the opportunity to develop connections with professionals in the field and get their work into the public eye.
Requirements
- Student photographers/videographers are preferred to have experience with capturing photos/video during athletics events
- Student photographers/videographers are preferred to have their own equipment and editing software
- Student writers must have proficient writing skills
- A general understanding of sports-writing as well as sports rules, trends, and statistics is helpful
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Taking photos/videos during home games and other athletics events
- Creating short videos, reels, or graphics for social media
- Sorting and editing photos and videos for posting
- Writing game recaps, feature stories, and other materials for the OWU Athletics website
- Communicating with the Sports Information Director about deadlines for posting, content schedule, etc.
